This is such a sweet little novella! Carolina, strikes up a friendship with Lord Quainton who has returned with both physical and emotional injuries from the wars. This new friendship gives Carolina courage and strength to grasp the opportunity of love and life rather than let it pass by as she would have. The characters in the story are endearing and although the romance is brief, it is nonetheless touching.
