A gripping story that provides rare insight into what it means to be ensnared in the chains of substance abuse, and what it is like to tear away those chains. Because it's told from the point of view of one who is experiencing it, and who wants to understand it in every dimension as a scientist and humanist, it is a must read for anyone who is trying to tear those chains away, or is trying to understand what a loved one is going through in the process of becoming free.
