Reader Review: I read this book some years ago but i didn't realize that it was a part of a series until recently so I bought the book again. I love the Westmoreland series. Each book encourages me to read the next book in the series. Loving the series.
Delaney Westmoreland refused to let a mix-up in her vacation plans postpone the R and R she craved. But when she reluctantly agreed to share a secluded cabin with an arrogant sheikh bent on seduction, she found herself enrolled in a crash course in human sexuality. Unfortunately, commitment and love were misplaced pages in her darkly handsome mentor's manual.
Jamal Ari Yassir had intended to school Delaney in sensuality for his pleasure, but his plan backfired. Instead of loving and leaving her, he became engulfed by an irresistible passion for his sexy-as-sin cabin mate. Could his convenient summer lover be the woman he was destined to share his life with?

Delaney's Desert Sheikh
Chapter One
This was the first time he had been between a pair of legs and not gotten the satisfaction he wanted.Jamal Ari Yasir drew in a deep, calming breath as he slid his body from underneath the table. Standing, he wiped the sweat from his brow. After an entire hour he still hadn't been able to stop the table from wobbling.
"I'm a sheikh and not a repairman, after all," he said with a degree of frustration, tossing the handyman tools back in the box where they belonged. He had come to the cabin to get some rest, but the only thing he was getting was bored.
And it was only the second day. He had twenty-eight to go.
He wasn't used to doing nothing. In his country a man's worth was measured by what he accomplished each day. Most of his people worked from sunup to sundown, not because they had to, but because they were accustomed to doing so for the good of Tahran. And although he was the son of one of the most influential sheikhs in the world, he had been required from birth to work just as hard as the people he served.
Over the past three months he had represented his country as a negotiator in a crucial business deal that also involved other nations surrounding Tahran. When the proceedings ended with all parties satisfied, he had felt the need to escape and find solitude to rest his world-weary mind and body.
The sound of a slamming car door caught Jamal's attention, and he immediately wondered who it could be. He knew it wasn't Philip, his former college roommate from Harvard, who had graciously offered him the use of the cabin. Philip had recently married and was somewhere in the Caribbean enjoying a two-week honeymoon.

Jamal and Delaney have a very intense and unexpected affair, that turns into something more, as the only Westmoreland girl, Jamal will have alot of explaining to do if he wants to win Delaney. I enjoyed this novel, although, I enjoy the author's longer works more because the characters and their relationship are more developed.

I'm usually a big fan of Brenda Jackson's books but I found that I wasn't drawn into this particular title. The characters were not developed well, although their relationship did have its sexy moments. However too much time in the book was spent hearing about the fact that Jamal wanted to sleep with Delany, making the physical aspect of their relationship far overshadow the emotional aspects. Moreover I'm not entierly sure that the relationship was realistic. Dispite the negative, the book was a nice easy read which was effective at passing the time and although underdeveloped I liked Delaney's character.
