Reader Review: High Noon is a psychological/romance/thriller combination. The main character, Lt. Phoebe MacNamara is single mother who lives with her daughter, Carly, and a mother who suffers from extreme agoraphobia, & family friend Ava. At the start of the book, Phoebe uses her unique skills as a hostage negotiator, to talk down a man threatening to commit suicide & meets the man’s attractive former employer, Duncan. At first reluctant to pursue a relationship, Phoebe must combine a new love with a stalker hell bent on revenge for something. I really liked this story, it has a lot of twists & turns, some quite expected, and an aspect of romance which was quite sweet. Loved the strong female lead of Phoebe and the perfect blend of strong but gentle character portrayed by Duncan. Loved the suspense of the book and would highly recommend this as a good read.

This has to be one of my favourite Nora Roberts Books. It is right up ther with Midnight Bayou and The MacGregor stories. The storyline progresses really well, you don't ever feel like the story is rushed even though things happen at breakneck speed the progression of the romance feels real. The only problem I have with this book is I would have liked an Epilogue which Roberts does not tend to do, its probably just the fact that I got started reading harlequin where it is the norm but I reallyt like to revisit the characters a few months/years down the line for a few pages, especially when I so deeply like the characters. Read this book, you won't be sorry
