Reader Review: While this book was not the best book I've ever read, it was certainly not the worst either. The heroine is ditzy and cute. The hero is mildly menacing. Although there is not a lot of character arc or world development, I did enjoy a few funny/quirky moments. This book is entertaining, good beach read, but don't expect more.
First Betsy Taylor loses her job, then she's killed in a car accident. But what really bites is that she can't seem to stay dead. And now her new friends have the ridiculous idea that Betsy is the prophesied vampire queen, and they want her help in overthrowing the most obnoxious power-hungry vampire in five centuries.

I originally purchased this book on a whim. However, I loved it so much I went out and purchased the rest of this series and a few additional novels by MaryJanice Davidson. Undead and Unwed is the first novel in this new series about Betsy (Elizabeth Taylor) who not only becomes a vampire but is the Queen of the vampires and tied to the very sexy vampire Eric Sinclair. This is a very humourous story and is highly recommended to lovers of chick lit, humour and the paranormal.

"Undead and Unwed" is in the protagonist's point of view, which is sarcastic and sometimes witty. This book is a pretty easy read and not the norm (or at least what I have found to be the norm with Vamp Romance novels). I've definitely read worse books and I have definitely read better books. Not for those wanting hardcore romantics ... it does have some in there but not as descriptive as J.R. Ward's or Kresley Cole's.
I too would want to shop
