Reader Review: The suspense caught me in its clutches and didn't let go until the last chapter. The plot was amazing, the pacing fluent, the writing and style incredible and the characters wonderful. I got the impression they were even more and better developped than those in the first book. Ms. Brant yet again mixed suspense, thriller, blood, chills, romance, and pretty steamy scenes together perfectly, intertwining little details to make one heck of a well-rounded story....There were plenty of twists and turns, false leads, and red-herrings to make your head spin, and I'll be the first one to admit the killers true identity absolutely blew me away in a "oh, my effing God what just happened?!" kind of way. Masterful executed until the very end....Great story, with a wonderful mix of every single element I love in my novels (even a slight paranormal angle, but you'll have to read it to know what I mean), wonderful suspense, great writing, amazing portrayal of the small-town and its mentality without falling into the hillbilly trap, wonderful characters, gripping romance, and a perfectly twisted and chills-inspiring villain.
When the body of a woman is found in rural Buffalo Springs, forensic investigator Ramsey Clark is called in. Ramsey believes in evidence, not superstition. But, when another murder rocks the town, Ramsey begins to wonder if a killer is playing on everyone's fearsâÂÂor a prophecy is being fulfilled.
