A man of wisdom once said to me. "Lee; it's better to have a great story and no grammar skills than great grammar skills and no story." So I took those words to heart and sat down to write my story of 'the past, the present and then back to the past'. This is the first in a three book series that will take you on a journey into one man's life. Please excuse my grammar and read my unedited story for what it's worth. It's about Jake O'Malley; a 29 year veteran police officer turned alcoholic who has lost everything dear to his soul, yet manages to face the world another day. I was a police officer for 17 years and had to learn the facts the hard way. The fact that wisdom will surpasses education every time. I believe wisdom has passed on to a world no longer willing to listen to it. This book is for all the old officers who policed when policing was the real thing; and knew important instinct and wisdom are. A written format doesn't work only guts and no glory. Although this story is fiction, the main character is real and will always be dear to my heart for teaching me the real meaning of law enforcement. This book unfolds like a movie. It's written from an original screenplay that I had done a few years before. I will end this by saying one thing."The luck of the Irish; or is it?"
