Reader Review: It was so refreshing to read this book. It was witty, funny, and the characters were well created. The story line was so unique compared to all the other romance novels that just came off the same assembly line. I could not put this book down until I was finished.I would highly recommend this book.
“Utterly charming . . . Put Sophie Kinsella’s Number on speed dial.”— USA Today
Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry her ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her “happily ever after” begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring in a hotel fire drill, but in the panic that follows, her phone is stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!
Well, perfect except that the phone’s owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn’t agree. He wants his phone back and doesn’t appreciate Poppy reading his messages and wading into his personal life.
What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other’s lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls, and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents, she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.
“A rollicking page-turner . . . It’s funny. It’s clever. It twists and turns. . . . Sophie Kinsella has yet another winner.” —Fort Worth Star-Telegram
“Fresh, fast-paced, and fiercely funny . . . Kinsella pens her most lovably neurotic protagonist yet. . . . A laugh-out-loud comic caper.”— Publishers Weekly
“Poppy is easily as charming and daffy as shopaholic Rebecca Bloomwood.” —Kirkus Reviews
“A screwball romance for the digital age.” —The Star-Ledger

I loved Poppy - from the footnotes to the silly texts to her kind heart - the type of girl I would love to know. Ms. Kinsella is a master at turning her main characters into living, breathing young women. You feel like you can reach right out and hold their hands through their downs and jump up and down with them through their highs.
Great read

There were times in the book where I actually laughed out quite loud and that is something any of us rarely do now a days.
Poppy Wyatt is about to get married in 10 days and she loses her engagement ring. Then she finds a phone when her one gets mugged and she quite begs the owner (well it's his company's) to leave it with here till she gets her ring back.
There is a good deal of laughs and you get to quite like Poppy. Filled with classic Kinsella humor, this is a must read for all her fans out there. Even if you are not a fan, it's still a lot of fun to read if you are into chick-lit.

I've read the first two Shopaholic books, and I enjoyed them, but wasn't invested enough to keep reading b/c it became repetitive and annoying. This author is not on my auto-buy list either, but the premise of the book intrigued me enough to pay the outrageous sum for their ebook.
Overall, it was funny, sweet and entertaining. I really really enjoyed it...so much that I was willing to overlook some overly ridiculous moments in the book.
The good:
- I expected to be embarrassed for Poppy at times (reminds me of Becky), but I like that SK didn't make her too similar and cringe-worthy like her other heroine. She seems pretty real to me (most of the book), and I like that we can see that she's an intelligent girl for the most part, unlike the Shopaholic books where Becky suddenly grows a brain in the last chapter.
- Sam. He makes me swoon. Loved him, his character, everything. Seriously,
The bad (why it gets 4 instead of 5 stars):
- Those damn footnotes. I get it, they're cute and quirky. But on my Nook, Nook App for iPad and PC, they don't show up until the very end of the chapter. So I just ignored them as a whole.
- Magnus. You have to read it to find out why I despised him.
- Chapel scene. SO CHEESY!
But what Sam said via text to random lady put the book back on my good graces. Loved it.
