Reader Review: Just by going through the web you may realize, how many books per year Sean Michael writes, at least 2 or 3 novels plus a lot of short stories. In this speed you cannot expect much more than professionalism a good handicraft, nevertheless, the true exciting essence of a good story, originality, seems missing. To be honest, there is original background - a primitive kind of society reminding us of a Native-American society before 1492. This society is presented to be almost paradise - with its shortcomings. however, the core of the story is a lyrical love story, which is quite boring in the way it is stereotypically presented love between to men, which goes thought almost no change, no development. You can point down so many clichés, it almost makes a reader read with their eyes closed, it is so obvious what will follow. In terms of a slash novel, this is quite a good story, lyrical, sometimes even touchy. Nevertheless, more unpredictable development in the heroes relationship is missing badly.
The water flows to Quan, a mage in search of the most important thing a mage can find, his protector and life partner. Young tribesman Jael is just that, but he doesn't know it yet, and Where Flows the Water explores the relationship between these two very different men as they meet and begin to build something lasting and necessary, aided by physical closeness that scorches with its intensity. When the two finally get it right, they connect, and it's them against the world, which sometimes seems determined to tear them apart. Set in a fantasy world as complex as it is interesting, Where Flows the Water showcases a place where magic is a part of the everyday world in hundreds of small ways, and where love knows few boundaries, if only the stubborn can see it exists.

Quan & Jael have a few ups and downs (Jael is hoping to offer for a widow when he saves Quan from a bear) but their relationship is a good one and I loved hearing about their world.
