A time of grieving is, at best, spent stepped back from the everyday flow of life. It is a time of focused introspection, holy moments and amazing personal evolvement, as well as containing periods of nearly unfathomable pain, sadness, loneliness and often deep, gut-level angst. As unlikely as it seems, this combination is exactly the one that best takes us into healing. As this is so for adults, it is also true for young people -- but the young somehow do not always get the coninuing attention they need in order to recover and heal completely. It is our responsibility as adults to support them and to assist them through this difficult time in their lives. And that is the purpose of this book. This is a year-long journal of thoughts, ideas and activities that is age appropriate in content and design; those just entering the age of reason right on up to those maturing in their college years will all respond and grow through its use. The ideas are thoughtfully developed, the information is relevant, feelings are interpreted in the straightforward ways that youngsters understand, and the thoughts and feelings of yuth are both acknowledged and honored throughout.
