Reader Review: Prequel to the Lords of the Underworld series. This is a beauty and the beast romance between Geryon, the demonic Guardian of the Gate, and Kadence, the beautiful Goddess of Oppression. Geryon, ashamed of his past and of what he is now, never imagined his heart's desire will notice him. But, noticed him she did. Kadence saw the haunting brown eyes and the complex, noble being behind the silence. Their coming together was sensual but tinged with desperation as they raced against the Demon Lords to save her life. The ending was totally bittersweet. If you want a short read, this 66 pager is certainly a pleaser. As I haven't read any books in the series yet, this is tease enough for me to consider picking one up.

A really short story. It's a prequel the the Underworld books but it's not needed to continue the series. I liked both characters in this one and didn't expect the ending to turn out the way it did at all.

I ablsolutely loved this title. I had read some of the series already before I realized there was a "prequel" in ebook form. I strongly suggest anyone who even thinks of reading the Lords of the Underworld series to read this.

Creative story and good characters drive this story. It left me wanting a little more, like it wasn't a fully finished work. Fun read, lacked depth.

As the beginning of Ms. Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series, this was an outstanding e-Book. Loved the
story and it absolutely gave the structure of the stories to come. It is absolutely great. Look forward to all the new books to come forward.
