As a young woman, author R. Scott always wanted a beautiful Christian family. She grew up in a single-parent home, so it was extremely important to offer her child what she didn't have: two parents in a household. She wanted her family so much that she did everything that she could to hold onto a bad relationship. Unfortunately, her man Reginald just wouldn't act right, cheating on her with various other women while she was pregnant.
Scott had to determine how she wanted to live her life, but no matter how much she wanted to make the right decisions, she always managed to make the wrong ones. She gave him chance after chance, but nothing never changed. Her best friend, Jessica stayed by her side through everything, trying to convince her to do what was right but never getting through to her. In the end, it took hearing bad news to get her to understand what was most important in her life and to open her eyes to reality.
When she finally realized that God was in control, wonderful things began to happen in her life. She finally saw the importance of holding onto God's unchanging hand, and that is the lesson of her story: if you put your trust and faith in Him, he will help you find your way.
