Lucretius was a Roman poet and philosopher just before the birth of Christ. Lucretius wanted to free man's mind from superstition and the fear of death. He believed that tiny atoms governed the workings of the world not the will of the Gods. Death was seen as the ceasing to be neither good nor bad. This incredible philosopher was analyzing the universe in terms far beyond his time.
