G A Henty was a 19th century novelist, special correspondent and Imperialist. His best-known works are historical adventures. Saint George for England was published in 1885. This military story tells of the naval victories off the coast of Sussex by Cressy and Poitiers against the Spanish. The historical facts of these battles are accurate. Like many of Henty's other books this story is full of adventure.
