Our world continues to move at an alarming pace, and this "busyness" can often threaten our walk with God. In the midst of dramatic cultural change, it is crucial that we immerse ourselves in his Word so that we may clearly hear his voice. In this uplifting guide, Dr. John E. Guns applies his extensive practical and professional knowledge as a pastor, author, and theologian to show you how to devote yourself entirely to God. In this manner, you can build your relationship with God on the firm foundations of Scripture and faith. By opening ourselves to spiritual growth, wisdom, and life lessons, we can shed our halfhearted faith and fully embrace God and his Word. Dr. Guns's encouraging message will show you how to release the negatives in your life and replace them with the positives. He shares personal anecdotes and offers daily inspirational thoughts to help you fully immerse yourself in God instead of merely going through the motions. Written in a down-to-earth, friendly style, Journey to Wholeness delivers a roadmap for the journey of life, one solidly pointed toward God through Jesus Christ. Journey to Wholeness: Immersion into a Bible-Based Life
Chapter One
BE AT YOUR BESTWhen I was younger, my mother used to say to me, "John, be at your best because you don't know what God has for you." Being at your best is about living each day governed by the standard of God and having the discipline to govern and place constraints on your conduct and conversations. God has entrusted you with much and each day is an opportunity to exhibit His glory to the earth. We each have a personal assignment that God has given us and we must set our goals to be at our best daily. Remember that God grants us grace each and every day. Grace empowers us to walk boldly as creative conquerors and refuse to settle.
I am excited! The world is aching for people who will rise to the top to put forth the awesome power of God. I challenge you to be at your best.
WORDS OF WISDOM:
If you are working, give your best performance today.
Have the best attitude you can have today.
Discipline your conversations.
Make a difference in someone's life.
Be courteous, kind, and compassionate to family, friends, and strangers.
Look for a moment to worship and keep God before you.
"God is waiting to open new and exciting doors but he needs you at your best."
