[Minnesota Politics Press Release] After rechartering the Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) Democrats organization in January of 2006, Josh Linsk was elected it's President by the members of that student organization. This organization was originally founded by former MCTC student Kendal Killian, who is now the faculty advisor of the rechartered MCTC Democrats student organization. This organization was originally founded a few years ago, but went defunct due to faculty members not supporting the organization semester-to-semester. The goal of Joshua Linsk is to encourage current attendees of meetings to lead the organization in the future. An equally important goal is to make sure staff members who are dedicated to the organization and the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party values are keeping the organization active, due to the fact that students typically attend MCTC for a short period of time(or transfer to other schools). The following is information on this organization which has been posted around the Minneapolis Community and Technical College campus: "The MCTC Democrats are organizing the MCTC campus in efforts to build up our organization so that it will last for decades to come, we are registering our fellow students to vote with the goal of future GOTV (get out the vote) efforts to turn these students out on election day, we are educating our fellow students on how to become politically active, and we plan to have interesting speakers and guests."
