[Minnesota Politics Press Release] On February 28th, 2006 Josh Linsk was appointed to the Hennepin County Adult Mental Health Advisory Council by the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners. Josh Linsk was appointed after a motion of nomination by County Commissioner Gail Dorfman, of St. Louis Park, with a second from County Commissioner Mike Opat of Minneapolis. All Seven Members of the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted for the appointment of Joshua Linsk for a position as a family member of those with mental health issues. The role of a member of the Adult Mental Health Advisory Council, as stated by the Hennepin County website is to, "Advise the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners on Adult Mental Health issues within Hennepin County. Monitor, study and comment on mental health issues at federal, state and local levels." As stated by the Hennepin County Boards and Commissions website, "The membership of the Hennepin County Mental Health Advisory Council shall consist of up to 32 voting members. To the extent possible the Mental Health Advisory Council Membership shall consist of equal numbers of Nine Consumers, Nine Family Members, Nine Mental Health Providers and up to five individuals Representing Advocacy Organizations."
