Description In a world quite similar to ours, 2 ordinary schools girls get tangled up in a world they had never noticed before. Patricia Stevens and Kelly Miranova are just 2 of hundreds of teenagers in Oxfordshire preparing for their GCSE exams when one of their friends is nearly abducted gives them the impetus to defy their parents' and teachers' advice and chase after those responsible. However, if you go looking for trouble, you'll find it and Patricia finds herself on the verge of being kidnapped when she's saved by a mysterious shadow. From that point on, they discover other friends who are being targeted by ""The Darkness,"" a subset of the criminal underworld, and with the added support of their mysterious shadow, they seek to protect their friends and community. But who is Murasaki and what are her real intentions? There's a fine line between the brave and the foolish and these teenagers were to learn the difference the hardest way. About the Author Martin Hopley was born in 1978 near Chester before moving south to Reading when he was 8 where his life started to change for the worse. At the age of only 14, he was diagnosed with a brain tumour and then at the age of 17 he was diagnosed terminally ill after multiple brain operations and radiotherapy failed to halt the growth of his disease. After picking himself up and finding a different method of fighting his condition in the form of herbal therapy, Martin Hopley has survived the worst of his condition for reasons medical science are unable to clarify nor prove. With an imagination born from fire of life, he now gives talks about his amazing survival and uses his unique imagination to write fiction. This book is the first in several to be spawned from the recesses of his mind.
