Her life became a living nightmare her paranoia was so great that she was convinced people could see into her mind and read her every thought. She had numerous breakdowns which led to hospital admissions. In between the breakdowns she was filled with an unbearable depression and lived in fear of becoming ill again. Her day to day life was one of anxiety and dread. Despite this Lorraine and her husband Pete tried their best to cope with running a home and bringing up their three daughters. About the Author When she was in her late twenties Lorraine was diagnosed with manic depression. From her experience Lorraine feels there is still a lot of stigma attached to mental illness. Some people don't seem to realise that it can happen to anyone, anywhere, from any walk of life, at any given time. Lorraine hopes to help eradicate this stigma through her writing. And increase the public's awareness of mental health problems. Lorraine was born in Hull lives in a small east Yorkshire village. She is now in her early fifties and although she is maintained on tablets has been reasonably well for eight years. She enjoys reading, writing, and craft work and the frequent visits from her grandaughters
