Hagador's Children is an adventure story told by two sisters to their aging father. They weave events from their childhood into a story about young girl lizards growing up in a wonderful world centered inside their own backyard. In the course of this telling the lizards overcome adversity while sharing friendships with neighborhood animals. They learn to respect and love their family and friends. They experience the pleasure of new friendship and the pain of the end of friendship, the loss of life and the joy of birth. As the lizards develop, eventually into young adults, they battle adversity by learning to call upon their own inner strength. The story takes place in the backyards under the shadow of the Santa Ana Mountains in the southern inland city of Corona, California. A colorful story for a wide audience. An excellent read out loud book for elementary school aged children as well as for individual reading by ages 12 to adult. Adult readers will be warmly entertained by a seamless blend of natural realism, interesting character dialogue, and personal association with the storyline itself. Children will enjoy the animated plot and dynamic characters and will take away life lessons about love, friendship, loyalty, and logic under stress. Color illustrations follow some chapters to allow the young listeners to associate the animals to the events.
