Job is the story of a cosmic conflict between the God of the universe and Lucifer, one of God’s fallen angles. Lucifer is calling God a liar, a phony, and an imposter but God defends His character. Then, to make a point, God chooses Job as a human representative to prove to Lucifer that people worship God for who He is and not for what He does.
