(SHORT STORY, INCLUDES EXTENDED BONUS MATERIAL) Life and death in the frigid waters of the North Pacific Ocean! Damsel in Distress The prudent skipper avoids reefs, rocks, and shipping containers. Or tries to. Off Japan, the freighter Pacific Trading Victor loses a clutch of cargo containers. All but one sinks. The currents propel this sole survivor toward the coast of the Pacific Northwest. Invisible, it enters the same north-south shipping lanes that Damsel, a forty-foot sailboat, plies. There it lurks. Suddenly, without warning, Damsel strikes the steal-walled monster. In one rending instant, the collision opens a gash in Damsel's fragile hull. As the crisis deepens, the boat's owners discover they have much more to deal with than their terror and chill water filling their yacht. About the Author: Jamie McNabb lives within sight of the Pacific Ocean. When not writing, he sails, runs aground, and waits for the tide to lift him clear. His short fiction has appeared in a variety of magazines and online publications.

| Note | ePub, short for electronic publication is one of our favorites and should be yours for a couple of reasons. ePub offers reflowable text giving you flexibility to manipulate how the content is presented. Moreover, lots of cool features are now being developed for the reader like advanced video and audio. ePub is now an industry standard, so all of the "non-propreitary" hardware manufacturers are now supporting it. |
