Fin Finagin is a boarder at Nellie's Cafe which is on the bay at Eagles Nest Marina in a previous era when things were presumably simpler, quieter and kinder. He is a prankster but never laughs harder at anyone than he does at himself. His best friend, Scotty, lives on a small houseboat in the slip next to Fin's old wooden skiff, affectionately referred to as Creature. Each story is related to fishing and the outdoors and highlights values associated with friendship, honesty, humbleness, and generally doing the right thing. The short stories serve as object lessons and are excellent shared reading between older and younger outdoor enthusiasts.
