But it's a piece of piss next to the bitch of a job that getting rid of her again can be. Such is the experience of Tom Wilton, a harassed husband and mid-ranking civil servant in central Scotland. Can he find a boyfriend for his wife so that she'll leave him of her own accord ? Can he do so while also holding down a job which seems to require him to start the next space shuttle programme on a golf course in Perthshire ? And why is it that he seems consistently dogged by disaster ? The wife may be one thing but he could do without accidentally becoming an eighties car-jacker, avoiding the explosive garden furniture, or setting up the first pornographic website for a local Church. St. George only had to slay the dragon. At least he didn't need to wake up next to her every morning…
