It's the third book in the Lions of the Serengeti series, and considering I haven't read the previous books and liked this one, it can easily be read on it's own. Although it did make me wonder about the previous ones, so now I may have to go back and read them, just because this was such a good book, and I really liked the author's writing style. It also felt a bit different from the usual shifter books that I've read which was a refreshing change.
