Catherine Barnes loves to push the envelope. She had tried out for the football team in high school on a dare. Upsetting her grandmother, and entertaining her family, she pushed the envelope again as she sabotaged her own wedding; telling her fiancé that she wouldn't marry him in front of all of their family. Virginia moved to North Carolina after buying custody of her daughter. She thought she could leave her life as it had been in Chicago. She was wrong. Her ex-husband follows her and wants more money after Virginia tries to start her life over; a new beginning to replace the horrors of her past. She discovers that burying the past doesn’t work as she discovers there is more to her life than she could handle.
