This is a short story which I originally wrote for an anthology called Murder Most Romantic at the invitation of one my favorite editors, Denise Little. Happily, changes in technology and distribution now make it possible to release new editions of works that have been out-of-print and unavailable for years.
Since this story is romantic-comedy, I’m releasing this free ebook edition as Laura Leone, the pseudonym under which I’ve written many romance novels. The reason I started my writing career under a pseudonym is covered on the FAQs page of my website, as is the reason I switched to a different name when I later started writing fantasy. (My reasons were standard stuff, nothing wildly salacious or original; but the information is there, if you’re curious.) Anyhow, please note that if you link to LauraLeone.com to look for information about my romance novels, you’ll find yourself visiting a website that’s hosted under my real name, Laura Resnick.
